Effect: You conjure a line of dark, fiery energy that stretches 5 feet wide and 60 feet long in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 5d6 necrotic damage and is set alight by Void Flame for 1 minute, taking 1d6 fire damage at the start of each of its turns until it uses an action to douse the flame. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and is not set alight.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd.
Lore & Flavor:
The Void Flame is a destructive spell that combines the elements of necrotic energy with the destructive force of fire. The caster channels the chaotic forces of the Void, manifesting them as a dark flame that burns both body and soul. This spell is often used by sorcerers and warlocks who have delved into dark magic, seeking to corrupt and destroy their enemies with the unsettling power of the Void.
