You call upon the fury of ancient nature, causing a massive eruption of roots, thorns, and toxic pollen to overtake a 30-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range. The terrain in the area becomes heavily obscured and is considered difficult terrain for the duration.
When the spell is cast, and at the start of each of your turns for the duration, creatures of your choice within the area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 4d12 poison damage and 4d12 piercing damage, and is Restrained by grasping roots. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and suffers no additional effects.
A restrained creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check against your spell save DC to free itself.
While in the area, creatures that breathe must also make a Constitution saving throw at the start of their turn or begin choking on the pollen, becoming Incapacitated until the end of their turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the poison and piercing damage increases by 1d12 for each slot level above 7th.
