Vital Riposte

You seize a fragment of the attacker’s life force and twist it into a shield of necrotic energy to protect against its own attack. This barrier absorbs the force of the attack, but the effort rebounds with equal strength upon the attacker.

The attacker must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the attack is negated, and the attacker suffers necrotic damage equal to the damage the attack would have dealt. This necrotic damage bypasses resistance and immunity.

On a successful save, the barrier fails, and the attack resolves as normal.
