Venomous Bite

You summon forth spectral fangs that appear next to a target which attempts to imbue them with a malevolent poison.

You target one creature who must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 3d8 poison damage on a failure or half as much damage on a success. 

Failing the saving throw also applies poisoned for the duration. While poisoned in this way the target can remake the constitution saving throw at the end of their turns, taking 1d8 poison damage and remaining poisoned on a failure, or ending the spell on a success.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage (both initial and while poisoned) increase by 1d8 for each slot above 2nd.
