You consume the brain of another creature’s corpse, gaining its memories and knowledge. The corpse must have a brain and can’t be undead. The spell fails if the corpse has been dead (and its brain not preserved) for more than three days.

As an action, you can attempt to recall any important fact known to a creature whose brain you have consumed—family history, recent events, building layouts, passwords, details of the creature’s death, etc. To recall a piece of information, you must make an ability check using your spellcasting modifier. The DC is equal to the corpse’s Intelligence or Wisdom score, whichever is higher, plus their proficiency bonus and the relevant ability score modifier. You can only attempt to recall a given fact once.

As an action, if a creature whose brain you have consumed had a higher Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score than you, you can make a DC 20 check of the relevant ability. Add 1 to the DC for each point that the creature's score was higher than yours. On a success, your score permanently increases to that of the creature and you make future checks to recall that creature's memories with Advantage. On a failure, nothing happens. On a critical failure, your score permanently decreases by 1. You can only make this attempt once per ability score per creature.

* - (fresh or preserved brain of another creature)
