You invoke dark necromantic energy to target a creature within range. The energy seeps into the target's bones, causing intense pain as their bones begin to fracture and splinter from within. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 6d10 necrotic damage, and their bones crack and splinter, causing them to be stunned until the end of their next turn. Additionally, their movement speed is reduced by half for the next minute as they struggle to move with fractured bones. On a successful save, they take only half as much damage and suffer none of the other effects.
This spell has no effect on any creature that does not have bones.
Critical Failure Effect
If the target rolls a natural 1 on their saving throw, the necrotic energy violently shatters their bones, dealing an additional 3d10 necrotic damage and paralyzing them for 1 minute. The target may make another Constitution saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the paralysis on the success.
Special Effect
If the target dies as a result of this spell, their bones completely shatter, causing their body to collapse into a heap of fragmented bone and flesh, leaving them unrecognizable.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 6th.
