You inscribe or mark a circle and seal it with your will. Until broken, the circle creates a thin, invisible barrier of abjurant force.
-
Barrier: The circle blocks spirits, magically sustained creatures (such as summoned beings, ghosts, or necromantic constructs), and magical effects from crossing its boundary. Physical creatures and mundane objects move freely.
-
Containment: Spirits or magically sustained creatures that begin inside cannot leave unless the circle is broken.
Breaking the Circle:
The circle is disrupted if—
-
The caster moves more than 5 feet from the circle.
-
The drawn line is smudged, broken, or covered by an object larger than a coin.
-
Another creature deliberately scuffs or crosses it.
-
The caster dismisses it voluntarily (no action).
-
At sunrise, the circle erodes and collapses.
