You call forth a fey spirit that takes the form of a carnivorous plant which erupts from a point you can see within range. It emerges in a 10-foot radius, or a 20-foot radius if the point where this spell is cast is on a corpse. When this spell is initially cast, each enemy within 20 feet of the plant must make a Charisma saving throw or become charmed by you. Any charmed creature within 20 feet of the plant, must use their movement on their turn to move towards the plant by the most direct route, and try to stand on top of the plant. Creatures charmed by this spell can make this save again at the end of each of their turns or whenever they take damage.
When a large or smaller enemy creature moves within the radius of the plant for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it makes a Strength saving throw. On a failure the creature is swallowed. If they are charmed by you, such creatures automatically fail this save.
While swallowed, creatures are blinded, restrained, have total cover, and take 8d8 acid damage at the start of each of your turns. Swallowed creatures can use their action to make a Strength saving throw again. On a success, it frees itself.
When the spell ends, the plant withers away and swallowed creatures fall prone in an unoccupied space within the spell’s radius.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 7th.
