You conjure forth a quartet to strike up a concerto to inspire your allies. As an action, select a 10-foot square that you can see within range. Four ghastly and translucent skeletons appear in ripped, tattered, and ruffled shirts and waistcoats. Each skeleton is equipped with one of four instruments that you call out as the verbal component of this spell, though you may avoid the verbal component altogether. If you do, the skeletons arrive as a string quartet with a viola, violin, cello, and double bass. The skeletons and their possessions are intangible, can fly, and pass through and within objects. The skeletons are immune to damage, conditions, and cannot be disarmed. The skeletons dance as they play music and are deathly indifferent to any event beyond the direction of the spellcaster. The spellcaster must continue to hold the Conductor's Baton; otherwise the spell immediately ends.

As a bonus action, you may direct the skeletons to play one of three compositions: Ballad, Gavotte, or Tarantella. When you use a bonus action to direct the skeletons, you may additionally have them move up to 90 feet in any direction in addition to any change in composition that you choose. When the skeletons play, they produce loud music that can be heard within 500 feet. This music travels through walls, earplugs, the vacuum of space, and other obstacles unimpeded, and is not blocked by the Silence spell or similar effects. Deafened creatures cannot hear the music. When the skeletons are directed to play, they continue to play that composition until directed to play a different one or until the spell ends. The effect of the most recently chosen composition occurs again at the end of your following turns without additional direction, until the spell ends. They play only one composition at a time.

While the Ballad is playing, creatures of your choice that can hear the music are inspired to perform better. Until the end of each creature's next turn, that creature may add 1d6 to any roll of a d20. They must choose to add this before rolling. When the Gavotte is playing, creatures of your choice that can hear the music are excited to move more quickly. Any natural movement speed that creature has is increased by 10 feet until the end of their next turn. When the Tarantella is playing, the music is exceptionally loud and drowns out all other noise within range to the point of unintelligibility, though this does not impede verbal spell components except those that require a target to hear them. Creatures of your choice that can hear the music become unable to hear any sound other than the music, and if they are under an effect that is currently being caused by a different sound, such as a Siren's song, those creatures may immediately repeat any saving throw they have made to resist that effect. This also applies to any effect that has Charmed or Frightened them. At the end of each selected creature's turn they may benefit from the Tarantella again.

Constructs, Undead, Oozes, and Plants are unaffected by this spell.
