You conjure and fire a hyper-accelerated, rune-forged projectile from the Vrax-pattern rifle.
Make a ranged spell attack against one target within range. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 piercing damage as the conjured round tears through armor and flesh.
The rifle’s internal forge instantly synthesizes each round from raw aether and iron essence, producing a faint blue-white flash as the shot discharges. The weapon hums with residual heat and must briefly cool before firing again.
Scaling: This spell’s damage increases when you reach higher levels
5th level: 2d10
11th level: 3d10
17th level: 4d10
Special
If you roll a natural 1 on the attack, the weapon overheats and locks up until the end of your next turn.
At the DM’s discretion, special “rounds” or runic modifications can change the damage type (e.g., fire, force, or lightning).
Arc-Generated Ammunition
This rifle creates its own metallic needle-like projectiles through an internal alchemical reaction. It never needs to be reloaded.
Overheat
If you make more than 3 attack rolls with this weapon in one combat without taking a full turn to let it cool, the weapon overheats.
When overheated, attack rolls with it are made with disadvantage until you take an action to vent the weapon.
Upgradeable Frame
A character proficient with tinker's tools or smith’s tools can spend 1 hour and 50 gp worth of materials to apply one of the following modifications (only one may be active at a time):
-
Long Frame: Range increases to 150/600.
-
Short Frame: Range decreases to 80/320, damage becomes 1d12.
-
Carbine Frame: Gains the light property.
-
Sniper Frame: Range increases to 200/800, attack rolls beyond normal range don’t suffer disadvantage, they only subtract 1d4 from the total dammage.
