Description:
From the curse in your arm and the whisper of the Hunger Beyond the Flame, you summon a greatsword of solidified shadow and force, shaped from your will and pride. The blade hums with the echo of your old strength, its edge flickering with faint violet light.
While this spell is active, you may wield the shadow blade as a one-handed weapon despite its great size — your cursed arm and pact magic carry part of its weight.
The weapon deals 2d6 + your spellcasting modifier Force damage on a hit.
You can use your spellcasting modifier for attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
The blade counts as magical for overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
You can summon or dismiss the weapon as a bonus action.
If you drop the weapon or it leaves your hand, it dissipates immediately.
Special Features:
Strength of the Pact: Once per casting, when you hit a creature, you can deal an extra 1d6 Force damage, but you take 1d4 Force damage yourself as the magic scorches your arm.
Curse of Overuse: Each time you cast this spell again before finishing a short or long rest, you must expend one Hit Die (as if spent during a short rest).
At Higher Levels: When cast using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the weapon’s base damage increases by 1d6 for every two slot levels above 2nd.
Visual Flavor:
The sword is a massive, ghostly greatsword of violet and black flame. It hums with the echo of a heartbeat, and when it strikes, it tears through the air rather than cutting it. When dismissed, it shatters into glowing embers that sink into your cursed arm.
