Ball Lightning

A ball of crackling electricity streaks toward a creature of your choice within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. If the creature is holding or wearing a metal object, such as a metal weapon or a suit of heavy or medium metal armor, roll 2d4 and add it to the attack roll. On a hit, the target takes 3d8 lightning damage. Additionally, if the creature is holding or wearing a metal object, they will take an additional 1d8 lightning damage as the metal conducts the electricity back into them after the initial hit.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage of the initial hit increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
