You unleash spectral golden chains of pure greed onto a creature you can see. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw or become Afflicted by Avarice for the duration.
Effects on the Target
While afflicted, at the start of each of the target’s turns, roll a d4:
-
Covet:
The target must use its movement to grab or steal the nearest object of value. -
Blind Gold:
Their eyes turn metallic gold. They are blinded until their next turn. -
Gilded Pain:
Golden cracks form across their skin. The target takes 5d8 psychic damage. -
Hoarder’s Grip:
Their muscles lock up, clutching desperately at nothing. They are restrained until the end of their turn.
The target repeats the save at the end of each turn.
If the target reaches 0 HP while under Avarice, they turn into a solid gold statue, which crumbles into dust after 1 minute.
