When you cast this spell you call forth up to five undead creatures of CR 3. The creatures appear in unoccupied spaces you can see within range. When you cast the spell, choose the form of each creature (examples: revenant guardian, bone colossus, wraith‑bound sentinel, deathless champion, or other CR 3 undead agreed with the DM). Each summoned creature uses the normal statistics for its chosen form, including hit points, attacks, resistances, and immunities.
- Obedience. The summoned undead are friendly to you and your companions and obey your spoken commands. If you do not issue a command, they take the Dodge action and use their movement to avoid danger.
- Initiative and Actions. Summoned creatures share your initiative count but act immediately after you. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to command any number of them to take the Attack, Help, Dodge, Guard (move to and protect a creature), or Hold (remain and interpose) action. If you command a creature to use a special ability that requires an action, it uses that action on its turn.
- Durability and Death. Each summoned undead has its normal hit points. If a summoned creature is reduced to 0 hit points, it collapses into inert remains and cannot be revived by this spell. When the spell ends, any remaining summoned undead vanish, leaving behind bones, dust, or fading ectoplasm.
- Nature and Limits. The creatures are considered undead for the purposes of spells and effects. They obey commands even if those commands would normally be abhorrent to other creatures.
