You create a vampiric tether to one creature you can see within range. The target must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failure, a thread of crimson essence binds you and the creature.

While bound:

  • You always know the creature’s location as long as it is on the same plane.

  • The creature has disadvantage on saving throws against your spells that target only it.

  • Once per turn when you deal necrotic damage to the bound creature, you regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt.

The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on success.

If the creature has no blood, the spell fails.
