You summon fey spirits that take the form of beasts and appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. Choose one of the following options for what appears:
- One beast of challenge rating 2
- Two beasts of challenge rating 1
The summoned beast can be of any type of your choosing as long as it is not a swarm, and the creature can survive in the environment it is being summoned into (no octopus out of water). Each beast is also considered fey, and it disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
The summoned creatures are friendly to you and your companions. The summoned creatures act as a group on their own turn, which immediately follows yours. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to them, they defend themselves from hostile creatures, but otherwise take no actions.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the combined challenge rating of the creatures summoned increases by one for each slot level above 3rd (CR 3 at 4th-level, CR 4 at 5th-level, etc.). This spell never summons more than two creatures, regardless of what level spell slot is used.
