Description
You conjure a shimmering wall, dome, or shape of pure protective energy in any form you choose—flat wall, cube, dome, sphere, or irregular curve—so long as it fits within a 20-foot cube. The barrier appears in an unoccupied space you can see within range.
The barrier has 50 hit points and an AC of 15. It is resistant to all damage except force damage, and it cannot be the target of spells or effects that require a creature to make a saving throw. When reduced to 0 hit points, the barrier shatters, dispersing harmlessly into sparks of light.
While the barrier stands, creatures and objects completely behind or within it gain total cover from effects on the opposite side. Any attack, spell, or area effect that would cross the barrier instead strikes it directly.
The barrier can be made transparent, translucent, or opaque (your choice when casting). You can shape it freely within the space—curved, domed, or angular—though it must be one continuous structure.
At Higher Levels.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the barrier’s hit points increase by +25 for each slot level above 3rd.
Limitations
- The barrier occupies its space physically; Large or larger creatures can’t simply walk through it.
- A Dispel Magic or Antimagic Field suppresses it normally.
- Because it provides total cover, it can block line of effect for spells and ranged attacks until destroyed.
