Melody chooses two points in the air she can see within range. At each point, she creates a bright, glowing musical note suspended in space.
She may end her turn here, leaving the notes floating. At any time on a later turn (bonus action), she chooses one of the two activation modes below.
Mode 1: Stellaris Bind (Chains)
The floating notes burst into musical-energy chains that lash out at creatures Melody chooses within 60 ft of either note.
- Targets must make a Dexterity save against Melody’s spell save DC.
- On a failure, the target is immobilized and cannot take actions or reactions until the end of its next turn.
- Creatures restrained this way cannot break free by any means during that turn.
Mode 2: Stellaris Severance (Beam)
The two floating notes connect, forming a straight beam of radiant-harmonic energy between them. Any creature the beam passes through must make a Dexterity or Constitution save (Melody’s choice).
On a failure:
- Takes 20d12 radiant + 20d12 force damage (average well over 200).
- If the beam passes through a vital area (DM’s call), the creature is instantly reduced to 0 HP.
On success:
- Takes half damage and is not reduced to 0 HP.
The beam slices through objects and structures automatically. The notes then vanish.
