Description
You utter a word of pure negation and carve a sigil that implodes into a sphere of white-hot anti-arcane fire. At the chosen point, the air shreds with a sound like tearing fabric as every strand of magic in the area is violently burned away.
Effects on Magic
All magical effects within the area are instantly annihilated, including:
-
active spells,
-
summoned or conjured entities or effects,
-
magical traps, wards, circles, bindings, or illusions,
-
persistent magical environmental effects.
Magical items caught in the area are destroyed, becoming permanently nonmagical and losing all special properties.
Nonmagical items are unharmed.
Artifacts and similarly unique legendary objects may resist the effect at the DM’s discretion, often with unexpected or dangerous side effects.
Effects on Creatures
Each creature in the sphere must make a Dexterity saving throw as the anti-magic flame attempts to burn the magic out of them.
-
On a failed save:
The creature’s inner magic combusts, and it expends all of its spell slots, expended spell slots can be regained as normal. -
On a successful save:
The creature stabilizes its magical core and does not lose any spell slots, though it still suffers the full noncreature effects of the spell (such as losing magical items or ongoing spell effects).
Notes
-
This spell does not deal hit point damage. Its destruction is purely magical.
-
Divine, primordial, or extracosmic magic may interact with this spell unpredictably.
