When you cast this spell, the target is magically alerted that you are trying to contact them, they can chose to accept in which case both the caster and the target fall into a trance like state, in which the two creatures minds are connected and can communicate telepathically in a shared mindscape which they can communicate in until the spell end
At the end of the spells duration both caster and the target gain the benefits of a short rest, both creatures can only gain this benefit once per long rest
A creature within reach of the caster or target can take an action to wake the target from its trance like state which causes the spell to end prematurely and if ended in this way you do not gain the benefits of the short rest and are incapacitated for one round as your mind is sent reeling
