You call forth and conjure a winged bird or insect. You can choose their appearance and the sounds they make. They can't be larger than a medium size creature. You can dismiss the creature with an archaic word but you must wait 10 minutes before summoning the bird or insect again.
It is not in their nature to attack anyone or anything. They cannot bestow flanking or provide the help action. However, their intelligence is significantly higher than a regular animal or insect. Their allegiance is to you and cannot be turned against you.
Whilst they do not engage in combat or provide flanking, they can carry light items if they are of medium size. Two small creatures or one medium can ride it if that's the case. You can engage in casual conversation with the bird/ insect via telepathic bond only you and the creature share. Or if you have the Speak With Animals spell active. The creature can hover 5 feet off the ground but can't fly.
Its perception is your half your perception score plus your spell modifier.
It retains all memories of what it sees and discusses. It understands Common, Elvish, Druidic, Sylvan & Gnomish. If you communicate via telepathic bond, the creature understands you and you understand it.
