You call forth hell-forged chains etched with infernal runes, binding a foe in searing judgment.
Choose one creature you can see within range. The target must make a Strength saving throw.
-
On a failed save, the creature is restrained as barbed infernal chains erupt from the ground, walls, or air around it.
-
On a successful save, the creature takes half the damage listed below and is not restrained.
While restrained by the chains, the creature takes 3d6 fire damage and 3d6 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns.
Escaping the Chains
At the end of each of its turns, the restrained creature can make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw (its choice). On a success, the chains shatter into ash and the spell ends.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, both the fire and necrotic damage increase by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
