Axiomatic Visualization
2nd-level Transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous or Concentration (up to 1 minute, see effect)
Classes: Wizard, Sorcerer, Artificer
Effect
You visualize an object or construct within range according to its fundamental nature, and reality conforms.
Choose one object or structure within a 10-foot cube (scales with higher levels). You then pick a visualization mode:
1. Cleave (Severance Visualization)
You imagine the object as divisible matter.
-
Fabric tears, stone splits, metal shears along your chosen line.
-
Ignores nonmagical resistance and immunity.
-
Magical protections do not prevent the cut unless they specifically counter reality-altering or conceptual effects.
-
Worn or held items force a Dexterity save (DC = your spell save DC) or are affected.
2. Crush (Structural Visualization)
You imagine the object as load-bearing architecture.
-
The object bends, dents, folds, or crumples.
-
Domes, barriers, and walls deform according to their structure.
-
Magical barriers are weakened rather than outright destroyed unless concentration is maintained for multiple rounds.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher:
-
The range increases by 10 feet per slot level above 2nd.
-
The cube affected increases by 5 feet per slot level above 2nd.
-
Cleave and Crush become more precise, allowing for:
-
Multiple weak points to be exploited
-
Objects with greater magical fortification to be deformed
-
Tiny or fragile objects to be manipulated with extreme finesse
-
Limitations
-
Creatures cannot be directly targeted.
-
Artifacts or divine objects cannot be destroyed, only deformed.
-
Requires line of sight and mental clarity; disadvantage if blinded, stunned, or frightened.
Flavor
