Bolts of crackling, purple lightning arcs out towards all creatures within range.
All creatures caught within the radius must succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or suffer 5d12 Lightning damage. Additionally, their movement speed is halved, has a -2 to their AC and Dexterity Saving Throws, and it cannot take Reactions. On its turn, it can use either an Action or a Bonus Action, but not both. Regardless of the creature's abilities or magic items, it cannot make more than one melee or ranged attack during its turn. A creature may make this save again at the end of each of their turns. On a success, they take half damage and suffer no other effects.
On each turn that you maintain concentration, you may take one of the following Action:
- Move the cone at the start of your turn. All creatures who are no longer inside the area after moving the cone take 2d10 Lightning damage at the start of their next turn and no longer suffer any other negative effects unless they enter the cone again.
- Channel more power into the spell to deal an additional 5d12 damage.
- If a creature(s) that failed the save is in the area, you may deal 2d10 Lightning damage to them and then move them up to 30 feet in any direction, including upward. You may hold them in the air for as long as you maintain concentration, but all other creatures on the ground will remain unaffected by the spell. Creatures held in the air are considered paralyzed.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damages increases by 1d12 (1d10) for each slot level above 6th.
