All inorganic terrain within a 15ft radius sphere is quickly and harmlessly reduced to fine golden sand, and a strong wind rises, creating a contained sandstorm within the area. The caster must be making contact with a surface to activate the spell. When casting the spell, choose a number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus. They will be unaffected by the damaging effects of this spell.
- The area becomes difficult terrain.
- Any creatures beginning their turn in the area must succeed on a CON Saving Throw or be blinded for the rest of their turn.
- Any creatures outside the area are blinded to its components.
- On each of your subsequent turns while concentrated on this spell, you may burn all those within the storm’s radius with scorching sand as a bonus action. All creatures targeted with this attack must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they take 4d4 fire damage, taking half as much on a success.
This spell can be blown away with a sufficiently powerful wind-based spell, such as the Gust of wind spell.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the area of the sphere increases by 5ft and the damage increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 4th.
