The caster touches an inanimate object that can fit within the palm of their hand. Until the dispelling of "Animal Object", taken as a free action, the user can transmute the handheld object into a creature of a Small size or even smaller. The animal gains an AC equal to 8 + the caster's Proficiency Bonus + the caster's Spellcasting Modifier and HP equal to the real life creature that the object has taken the form of.
When cast as a bonus action, the Animal Object can perform a basic task that the caster instantly delivers to it through a telepathic bond, but nothing beyond that.
If cast as a ritual for 1 hour, the caster may give the creature additional commands, as though it was their loyal servant for a long time. The longer the object remains in the form of a creature, it may develope a personality quirk up to the sicretion of the player and DM. If the object remains in the form of a certain creature for 1 month or beyond, it will retain any and all memories it gains from it's time as a sentient being and will hold onto them even if it gets dispelled and cast upon again.
"Animal Object" can only be cast on non-magical objects, as the arcane essense of any enchanted item can counteract the Transmutation tradition being applied to it.
