You let out a supernatural roar or howl, summoning the presence of a spectral apex predator.
Choose one of the following damage types when you cast the spell: slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning.
For the duration, an invisible 30-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range is filled with the ghostly snarls and pacing of a great beast. When a hostile creature enters the aura for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, it takes 3d8 damage of the chosen type and has disadvantage on its next attack roll before the end of its next turn. On a success, it takes half damage and suffers no additional effect.
As a bonus action on your turn, you may move the aura up to 20 feet.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, creatures that fail their saving throw are also frightened of the sphere’s center point until the start of their next turn.
