You form some blood into a sharp, crimson projectile which flings towards a target.
Take 1d4 damage then make a ranged spell attack against one creature within range. On a hit, the spell deals 1d12 piercing damage. You don’t have to take damage if you have a creature’s liquid blood available within 5ft, such as from a damaged creature with open wounds, a vial of blood, or a recently deceased corpse. The blood from this source also replaces the material component of the spell.
If the blood comes from another source that is living, that creature takes the 1d4 damage instead.
At Higher Levels:
The spell's damage increases when you reach 5th level (2d12), 11th level (3d12), and 17th level (4d12). You don't take any additional damage.
