You unleash a tempest of creeping void energy that spreads over the battlefield in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you can see within range. The storm pulses with necrotic energy and malevolent force, attacking the vitality and fortitude of all creatures caught within.
Each creature in the area must make a Constitution saving throw.
-
On a failed save, a creature is cursed by the void and takes 6d8 necrotic damage immediately.
-
On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and is not cursed.
While cursed by Voidstorm, a creature suffers:
-
Ongoing Void Damage: At the start of each of its turns, the creature takes 3d8 necrotic damage.
-
Ability Drain: Its Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores are reduced by 1 (minimum 1).
-
Spell Vulnerability: The creature has disadvantage on saving throws against necrotic and psychic damage.
At the end of each of its turns, a cursed creature can make a Constitution saving throw to end the curse.
Voidstorm Persistence: The area remains a lingering void zone for the duration. At the start of each turn, any creature that starts its turn in the area takes 2d8 necrotic damage (no save) as the void pulses unpredictably.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, increase both the initial damage and the ongoing per-turn damage by 1d8 per slot level above 7th.
* - (A black, obsidian sphere the size of a fist, which the spell consumes.)
