This spell forcibly transports a particular fish of a certain type from the elemental plane of water by opening a temporary, one way portal to that plane of existence.

When you cast this spell, you inscribe a glyph upon a flat clear surface (such as a table or a section of floor or wall) in chalk or charcoal.

When you inscribe the glyph, choose from the following options for the manner of creature required. Each option uses the physical statistics of a quipper with any changes outlined as follows.

Quipper: The material component required for this option is 5 drops of blood per level of the spell cast.

Calishar man o' war: The material component required for this option is a small length of thread per level of the spell cast. Contact with this creature provokes a DC10 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the creature is stunned until the end of its next turn.

Red lipped wobbler: The material component required for this option is at least a cubic cm of flesh per level of the spell cast. Consuming one of these nutritious fish requires 10 minutes and grants the restoration of d4 HP per fish consumed. This property fades from the fish 24 hours after the fish dies.

Mucus wraith: The material component required for this option is 5 drops of oil, or one pint per level of 3rd or higher. Handling this fish requires a DC15 Dexterity check. One of these fish can be used to coat an object with slippery mucus (DC15), or a 5ft square of ground. This area is considered difficult terrain until rinsed or burned away, each creature standing in its area must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or fall prone. A creature that enters the area or ends its turn there must also succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or fall prone.

Glimmer wisp: The material component required for this option is a spark to complete the ritual. Each fish summoned in this way emits bright light in a 5ft radius, and a further 5ft of dim light. This effect fades 24 hours after the fish dies.

On completion of the ritual, the fish manifest from a point of your choosing you can see within range. Each fish is edible and provides enough sustenance for one creature for 24 hours.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the quantity of fish summonned increases by a factor of 5 per spell level cast up to 10th.

At 3rd level, if cast on a solid surface rather than in water, 5 fish will render a 5ft square as difficult terrain. At 4th level, the surface area will be a 5ft radius and will behave as a swarm of that species, and for each higher level cast this area will increase by 5 ft up to a maximum of 35ft radius at 10th level. For every level above 4th, the amount of swarms created will increase by a factor of 4.
