You draw on your own life force to create a weapon made from your blood. upon using this spell, you take 2d6 necrotic dameage. The weapon can take the form of any melee weapon with which you are proficient with. The weapon deals 1d10 damage, with the damage type matching that of the chosen weapon’s standard damage type (e.g., slashing for a longsword, piercing for a spear). The weapon persists until you take a short or long rest, or if you fall unconscious, upon which it immediately loses its shape and turns back into a pool of blood.
Infusion: While wielding the bloodforged weapon, you can use your bonus action to channel your lifeforce into the weapon's edge, sacrificing 1d4 HP to imbue the weapon with extra necrotic damage. The infusion lasts for 1 minute or until the caster loses concentration. If concentration is broken, the weapon wanes, and its additional damage is lost. While infused, the weapon becomes stronger as your health wanes eating up your vitality as you loose it. For every attack, you gain a bonus to your damage rolls based on your current HP quartile:
- 50-100% max health: 1d4 necrotic damage
- 25-50% max health: 2d4 necrotic damage
- Below 25% max health: 3d4 necrotic damage
Cantrip Upgrade: The infusion sacrifice and damage both increase to d6 at level 5, d8 at level 11, and d10 at level 17.
