Vaporize

Using a weapon with the thrown and/or finesse property, you throw it at a target you can see within range; where it turns into a powerful lightning bolt as it surges through the air. The target can be a creature, a nonmagical object, structure, or terrain.

A creature targeted by this spell makes a Dexterity saving throw against your Spell DC plus your DEX modifier. On a failed save, the target takes 12d6 + 30 of combined Lightning (6d6 + 15) and Thunder (6d6 + 15) damage. If this damage reduces it to 0 Hit Points, it is reduced to blackened skeletal remains, and everything nonmagical it is wearing and carrying are vaporized to dust and debris. The target can be revived only by a True Resurrection or a Wish spell. If the target has any remaining hit points, it is Incapacitated and knocked prone until the start of its next turn where they take one level of exhaustion from surviving the ordeal for the duration of combat. On a successful save the target takes half the total damage as the attack strikes any object or terrain within 5 feet of it and is subject to the additional damage/status conditions described below.

Targeting a creature, a nonmagical object, structure, or terrain causes the area within a 10-foot sphere around that point to explode from the force of the impact. All creatures, within that sphere must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 4d6 Force damage, be thrown back 5 feet and knocked prone until the start of their next turn. If this damage results from the spell missing its intended target, the target makes this DEX save at Disadvantage.

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. The damage increases by 3d6 for each spell slot level above 7.  In addition, targets that survive the attack gain an additional level of exhaustion for each spell slot level above 7.
