You intercept hostile magic and violently reverse its flow back toward its origin.
When a creature you can see within range casts a spell, you attempt to disrupt and rebound the magic.
If the spell is 3rd level or lower, the spell fails and is reflected back at the caster as though they were the original target.
If the spell is 4th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a success, the spell fails and rebounds back at the caster. On a failure, the spell resolves normally.
The reflected spell originates from the caster and targets them or their original point of aim as appropriate.
Energetic Consequence
Channeling hostile magic through your mind exacts a toll. When you successfully rebound a spell using Arcane Rebound, you take psychic damage equal to 1d6 per level of the spell reflected as the violent magical energies pass through your consciousness.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the interrupted spell automatically fails if its level is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.
If the spell you interrupt is of a higher level than the slot used to cast Arcane Rebound, you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level.
