You choose an area of water, ice or snow that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube, or create up to 5 gallons worth of ice or snow. You can manipulate it in the following ways:
-
You instantaneously move or otherwise change the flow of the water and freeze it as you direct, up to 5 feet in any direction. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage.
- You instantaneously turn the water or ice into snow.
-
You cause the ice or snow to form into shapes and animate at your direction. Simple shapes last 1 hour, more complex shapes last 30 minutes. Animating complex shapes requires concentration.
-
You change the ice or snow's color or opacity. The ice must be changed in the same way throughout. This change lasts for 1 hour.
- You can spend 1 hour concentrating on an animated snow shape. If you do, it will remain animated for a number of hours equal to your CHA bonus, minimum of 1, without concentration. It will no longer be under your control but it remains friendly toward you and may do what you ask. It cannot attack, and has hp equal to your CON bonus, minimum of 1.
You can cast this spell multiple times with multiple effects, but only 2 of the non-instantaneous effects at the same time. And you can only have one independent animated shape active at a time. You can dismiss such an effect as an action.
