You target one sentient creature you can see within range that is not hostile toward you.
The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or have its entire mindset inverted. For the duration, the creature’s current thoughts, intentions, and emotional inclinations reverse into their direct opposites.
This effect is not limited to a single decision. The creature’s reasoning, preferences, and attitudes are flipped entirely, causing it to behave in a manner opposite to what it would normally do in that moment. A creature that was unwilling may become cooperative. A creature that was affectionate may become resentful. The inversion affects its judgment, not its memory.
The spell has no effect if the target is in combat or becomes hostile during the casting. Additionally, the effect ends immediately if the target takes any damage.
Aftereffect
When the spell ends, the creature becomes aware that its behavior was unnaturally altered, though it may not understand how or why.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the duration increases by 1 minute for each slot level above 3rd.
