You sever an existing connection (physical, magical, spatial, or conceptual). The link must already exist; you cannot pre‑emptively cut a future connection.

Base : Cut a physical link (rope, chain, hinge, structural stress).

6th‑level or higher: Cut a magical link (sever the link between two portals – both remain open but no longer connect, entering one leads to an unknown location; sever a teleport spell's anchor – the teleport still occurs but arrives at an unknown location; also breaks summoning bonds or attunement.).

7th‑level or higher: Cut spatial continuity (create a 3‑minute barrier or dead magic zone;  No concentration required;  recovers automatically).

9th‑level + divine power & legendary sacrifice: Cut abstract concepts (cause/effect, fate, oath, ownership, emotional bond).
