You sever a region of the cosmos from the flow of time, isolating it within a single, unchanging moment. You trace a circular boundary with the enchanted sand, enclosing a 50-foot-radius sphere centered on a point within range.

When the ritual is complete, time ceases to pass within the area. All creatures, objects, and effects within it are fixed in the exact state they were in at that moment. Spells and conditions affecting the area or its contents are likewise suspended, and no change can occur within it, (for example, falling rain remains suspended in midair, flames hang motionless without flicker, and creatures are held perfectly still in the positions they occupied when the spell was completed).

A creature frozen within the stasis field is unaware of the passage of time and experiences no sensation or perception during its suspension. To it, no time has passed at all, and when the effect ends, it resumes awareness in the same instant it was frozen, as though it had just stepped into place at the moment of the spell’s completion.

The boundary of the stasis field is faintly visible as a distortion in the surrounding space, often noticeable where motion abruptly ceases, such as weather halting abruptly at its edge or a perfectly preserved scene standing in contrast to its surroundings. The area does not block movement, but anything that fully enters it becomes subject to its effect. An object or effect that enters the area is immediately frozen in time, retaining its position, motion, and trajectory until said effect ends.

Any creature that enters the area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it is frozen in time as though it had been within the area when the spell was cast. On a successful save, the creature is repelled from the boundary, moving to the nearest unoccupied space outside the area and ending its turn there.

When you perform this ritual, you designate a triggering condition for the effect to end. This trigger can be a specific event, a condition you define, or the passage of a set amount of time. When the trigger is met, the effect ends, and time resumes within the area as though it had not been halted.
