You attack a creature’s very existence at the level of law and reality. When you cast this spell, you must mentally describe one creature on the same plane as yourself, providing true characteristics sufficient to identify that creature uniquely. These characteristics can include the creature’s true name, species, class, origin, attuned magic items, important relationships, events it has experienced, and similar details.
If your description is inaccurate, if more than one creature on the same plane matches your description, or if the target isn’t on the same plane, the spell fails, and you don’t learn the specific reason for the failure.
If the target has a CR(or level) 20 or higher, it feels an overwhelming sense of fear and danger during your casting. If the target knows of this spell, it recognizes the omen. The target can’t determine your location from this omen alone, but it can attempt to leave the current plane, seek the protection of a deity or an equivalent being, or evade the spell by similar means.
If your target is a deity or an equivalent being, or a creature directly protected by such a being, that being can trace your approximate location through the connection at the level of law, and it can attempt to interrupt, counter, or attack you.
If the spell is successfully cast, the target loses 100 + 20d20 hit points. This isn’t an attack or damage, and it can’t be reduced, negated, or transferred in any way. This hit point loss ignores temporary hit points, doesn’t trigger any effect that would prevent the target’s hit points from dropping to 0, and doesn’t trigger any countermeasure, retaliation, or counterattack effect the target possesses.
If the target’s hit points are reduced to 0 by this spell, the target dies, and its existence is erased on a conceptual level. Except for you, creatures present to witness the completion of the spell, and deities or equivalent beings, all other creatures forget that the target ever existed. The world corrects reality and history with the smallest possible deviation, making the target’s absence seem reasonable. Mundane records, portraits, monuments, signatures, archives, and non-artifact objects are corrected so that they no longer directly point to the target. Artifacts, divine records, records protected by equivalent beings, and direct records preserved by witnesses present at the spell’s completion aren’t affected, but they might become obscure, incomplete, and difficult for those who didn’t retain their memories to understand.
A target killed by this spell can’t be restored to life by any ordinary means, because its existence itself has been erased. A wish spell can’t restore the original target; it can only create a being similar to the target but not the same existence.
If you target a deity or an equivalent being and successfully cast this spell, the spell can’t erase that being’s existence. Instead, the target falls dormant for 1d20 days.
When the spell is successfully completed, all deities and equivalent beings immediately perceive the disturbance at the level of law and learn that someone attempted to cast this spell. They don’t necessarily learn your identity immediately, but they learn the target of the spell and your approximate location when you cast it. You might need to prepare yourself to evade punishment from those powerful beings who protect the stability of the multiverse.
When the spell is successfully completed, two of your random ability scores permanently reduced by 2.
