Spell Description
You whisper a plea into the Seidr Nexus, tugging gently on the threads of your lineage. In response, a faint ancestral echo stirs — a voice without sound, a presence without form. It settles over your shoulders like a guiding hand, lending clarity, instinct, or resolve when you need it most.
Effects
Guiding Echo
For the duration, you carry a subtle ancestral presence that can be called upon once.
At any time before the spell ends, you may choose to gain advantage on:
-
One ability check,
-
One attack roll, or
-
One saving throw
You decide to use the murmur after you roll but before the outcome is determined.
When the echo is used, the spell ends.
Soul‑Thread Insight
While the spell is active, you also gain:
-
Advantage on Insight checks
-
The ability to sense if a creature within 10 feet is hostile, neutral, or friendly toward you (as interpreted by the Nexus)
This emotional reading is instinctive, not mind‑reading.
Ancestral Warning
If you would be reduced to 0 hit points while the spell is active, the echo flares and you instead drop to 1 hit point, ending the spell immediately.
This effect can only occur once per casting.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you may store one additional murmur for each slot level above 2nd. Each murmur may be used separately, but only one may be used per roll.
Flavor Notes for Chardis
-
Hiddenfolk describe the murmur as “the breath of the old ones at your ear.”
-
Web Walkers often use it before stepping into dangerous Grottos or confronting spirits.
-
The Branded hear only static when attempting this spell.
-
Rune‑Bound Outsiders hear a faint, distorted version of the echo.
