Spell Description

You step sideways into the Seidr Nexus, letting your body drift half a breath out of sync with the physical world. Threads of soul‑light coil around you, blurring your outline and warping the space you occupy. To onlookers, you appear as a flickering silhouette — present, but not fully here.

Effects

Partial Nexus Phase

For the duration, you exist in a state between worlds.

You gain:

  • Resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage

  • Advantage on Dexterity saving throws

  • Your form becomes blurred, causing attack rolls against you to be made at disadvantage unless the attacker relies on blindsight, truesight, or similar senses

This blurring is not illusion — it is your soul‑thread slipping between layers of reality.

Thread‑Slip Movement

Your movement becomes unnervingly fluid.

  • Your walking speed increases by 10 feet

  • Moving through a creature’s space does not provoke opportunity attacks

  • Difficult terrain costs you no extra movement

Your steps leave faint ripples of soul‑light that fade after a heartbeat.

Nexus Echo

Once per turn when a creature misses you with an attack, you may cause your after‑image to flare.

The attacker must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be disoriented, giving you advantage on your next attack roll against them before the end of your next turn.

This represents the creature’s soul‑thread slipping out of alignment as it tries to track you.

At Higher Levels

When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you may teleport 10 feet as part of the bonus action used to cast the spell. This teleport distance increases by 5 feet for each slot level above 3rd.

Flavor Notes for Chardis

  • Hiddenfolk say Web‑Walkers “step between the beats of the world.”

  • The Branded see Web‑Walk as a painful static smear, like a soul tearing.

  • Rune‑Bound Outsiders flicker with two overlapping silhouettes — their own and the rune’s echo.

  • Spirits and ethereal creatures recognize the Web‑Walk as a sign of deep Nexus attunement.
