Damage/Effect

You set your own soul ablaze with raw magical power, transforming it into an inexhaustible font of arcane energy. For the duration, you may cast any spell you know or have prepared without expending a spell slot. You ignore all material components costing less than 500 gp.

Soul Burn. Each time you cast a spell while this effect is active (including cantrips), roll a d100 and take that amount as force damage, no save throw upon taking this force damage. You then make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, you are paralyzed until the end of your next turn as your soul spasms.

Catastrophic Failure. If this damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you die instantly with no death saving throws. Your soul is completely destroyed and cannot be restored by any means short of direct divine intervention (e.g., Wish from a god or the intervention of Asgorath/Bahamut/etc.). Even true resurrection or wish cast by mortals fails.

Aftermath. When the spell ends (voluntarily or otherwise), you gain four levels of exhaustion and suffer 2d6 force damage per spell level cast during the duration (no save). Your maximum hit points are reduced by an amount equal to the total force damage you took until you finish a long rest.

Lore: Known in ancient tomes as the “Final Incandescence,” this spell is a desperate act of transcendence. Legends claim it was first used by a mortal sorcerer who sought to challenge a dragon god.
