You repeatedly slash the fabric of space in a 10-foot-wide, 60-foot-long line, tearing it in half. You pull the two halves apart to reveal a void, emit a burst of force from the gap, and violently snap the space back together. Each creature in the line must make a Strength saving throw (19 DC). On a failed save, a creature takes 6d8 slashing damage from the initial tear, and 6d8 force damage as the space slams back together. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage from both.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, you randomly alternate between vertical and horizontal spatial tears. The unpredictable angles prevent creatures from using the Evasion feature against this spell.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, you add unpredictable diagonal slashes to the pattern. Creatures in the area must make two separate saving throws, taking full damage from any they fail.
