Increases the accuracy of any map. A roll of a d12 defines the exact type of change. The scale of the map does not change. For example, a map covering 100 sq miles will not be able to give details of individual footpaths.
D12 roll result
1-3 - 1d4 previously unknown roads or paths are revealed. The new paths will generally be more safe (fewer random encounters) than other routes between the same places.
4-6 - 1d4 previously unshown springs or wells will appear on a chosen route. Water from these sources will always be drinkable.
7-8 - 1d4 previously unshown dangers will be highlighted, e.g. a troll cave, a goblin village, quicksand...
9-10 - One location where a magic item can be found is highlighted.
11 - The time to travel any route chosen decreases by 5%
12 - The time to travel any route chosen decreases by 15%
If the spell is cast a second time on the same map, the map becomes a normal map again and any future casting of this spell on the map will fail. Exception - Trail Warden Rangers and Circle of the Land Druids may recast this spell on a map one time and retain the benefits of both castings.
