You reach into the Weave and anchor your consciousness to a location on the same plane of existence that you have physically visited before and can clearly recall.
A shimmering portal no larger than a 1-foot-diameter circle appears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you, opening a stable conduit between your location and the chosen destination. Through the portal, creatures can see, hear, and target effects as though standing at either opening.
The destination portal manifests at the chosen location and remains stationary for the duration.
While concentrating on this spell, a single spell of 6th level or lower may be cast through the portal as though the caster occupied the destination space. Once a spell is successfully cast through the portal, the portal immediately collapses and the spell ends.
If no spell is cast through the portal before the duration expires, the spell ends harmlessly.
The destination must be a location you have personally visited and remember with reasonable clarity. If the location has dramatically changed, the DM may rule that the spell fails and the spell slot is expended.
Weave Instability
The act of forcing magic through the conduit places tremendous strain upon the Weave.
After a spell is cast through the portal, roll [roll]1d10[/roll]
1-5: The spell functions normally.
6-10: Roll on the Weave Instability table.
Weave Instability Table
| [roll]1d6[/roll] | Consequence |
|---|---|
| 1 | Weave Burn. The caster gains 1 level of Exhaustion. |
| 2 | Arcane Rebound. The caster takes [roll]4d6[/roll] Force damage and loses Concentration on any other effects. |
| 3 | Planar Feedback. The caster is pushed 30 feet in a random direction and knocked Prone. |
| 4 | Temporal Dislocation. The caster cannot take Reactions until the end of their next turn and ages or de-ages [roll]1d4[/roll] years (DM's choice or random). |
| 5 | Spell Echo. A harmless illusory duplicate of the spell repeats itself at the portal location 1 round later. If the spell dealt damage, creatures within 10 feet of the duplicate must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take Force damage equal to the spell's level. |
| 6 | Weave Fracture. The caster takes 10d6 Force damage and gains 1 level of Exhaustion. |
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the maximum spell level that may be transmitted through the portal increases by 1 for each slot level above 6th.
| Spell Slot | Maximum Spell Transmitted |
|---|---|
| 6th | 6th-level spell |
| 7th | 7th-level spell |
| 8th | 8th-level spell |
| 9th | 9th-level spell |
