Damage/Effect

You displace an area of effect spell right before its effects apply, by temporarily syncopating the section of the magic weave from which the spell originates. If the affected spell is of 5th level or higher, you must succeed on an ability check, using your spellcasting ability (DC 10 + the affected spell's level) or this spell has no effects. You need to be able to see the caster, and which components are used. If the spell has verbal components, hearing the caster and knowing their location can suffice. The DM decides if you can recognize the spell.

The effect differs depending on the area-type of the target spell spell:

Cylinder/Surface. Chose a direction perpendicular to the ground and a distance between 5 and 30 feet.  The spell's area is moved by these parameters immediately before applying any of its effects. The area can be moved outside of its original range.

Cone/Line. The area is rotated up to 45 degrees in either clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, your choice. The point of origin stays the same.

Sphere. Chose a point within 30 feet of the sphere's center. The center of the spell is moved to that center before applying any of it's effects. The area can be moved outside of its original range.

Any effects of the spell are treated, as if it was cast at this new location.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you automatically succeed, if the affected spell's level is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.

* - which you take when the area of a spell, of which you are aware, overlaps with this spell's range
