Aura of Protection

A golden aura emanates from you to envelop all creatures in range of your choice with your protection.

The first time a creature in range of the aura is hit with an attack, reduce the damage by 1d12 and deal that much damage back to the attacker. When this ability is triggered, the spell dissipates.

For each higher spell level, this ability may trigger an additional time before dissipating.
