You accelerate the body's natural regenerative processes, causing damaged tissue to rebuild, bones to mend, and the body’s own life force to repair injuries that would normally be permanent.

Choose one creature you touch. The target regains 4d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier hit points.

Additionally, choose one of the following effects:

Cellular Restoration

You repair one permanent physical injury affecting the creature. Examples include:

  • A broken bone that healed incorrectly
  • A shattered joint
  • Severe scarring or burns
  • A damaged organ
  • A lingering wound or injury caused by trauma

The DM determines whether a specific injury can be repaired by this spell.

Regenerative Growth

You begin the natural regrowth of one missing body part, such as an arm, leg, hand, foot, wing, tail, or similar appendage.

A living mass of regenerative tissue forms at the location of the missing body part. The growth is slow and requires 30 days to complete.

While the limb is regenerating:

  • The growing limb cannot be used.
  • The creature cannot benefit from another use of Regenerative Growth.
  • If the creature dies before the process completes, the regeneration fails.

After 30 days, the limb fully regenerates and becomes functional.

Restorative Preservation

If cast upon a corpse that has been dead for no longer than 100 years, the spell restores the body to the physical condition it was in immediately before death.

The spell can:

  • Repair wounds
  • Restore missing flesh
  • Reverse decomposition
  • Restore damaged organs
  • Reconstruct a body that has suffered severe physical trauma

This spell does not restore life, return a soul, or restore memories. The creature remains dead and requires an appropriate resurrection spell to return to life.

Biological Limitations

This spell cannot restore a creature if:

  • The body has been completely destroyed.
  • The creature has been reduced to ash or scattered beyond recovery.
  • The creature's head has been destroyed or separated from the body.
  • The injury was caused by magical effects that specifically prevent restoration.

The spell cannot create a duplicate creature, clone a living being, or produce a second body from a piece of tissue. It restores only the original creature’s body.

At Higher Levels

When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the healing increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.

When cast using an 8th-level spell slot, the regeneration period for Regenerative Growth is reduced to 7 days.

When cast using a 9th-level spell slot, the regeneration period is reduced to 1 day.

"The body remembers what it was. Flesh remembers its shape. Bone remembers its strength. The spell merely reminds it how to return."

* - (a restorative gemstone or diamond worth at least 100 gp, which the spell consumes)
