You whisper a message of no more than 25 words and anchor it to an unattended object or surface within range. Choose a delay ranging from 1 minute to 24 hours and describe the intended recipient. The description must identify a specific creature or a clearly recognizable group.
When the delay expires, the message remains dormant until an intended recipient comes within 10 feet of its anchor. That creature hears the message whispered in your voice, although no other creature can hear it. The spell then ends.
The message cannot receive a response, and it does not cross planar boundaries. Before it triggers, Detect Magic reveals a faint aura of divination surrounding the anchor.
At Higher Levels. When cast using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the maximum delay increases by seven days for each slot level above 1st.
