You speak a one-word command imbued with dark power of domination, targeting a creature you can see within range. The command must be a word in a language you speak and can include words like "flee" or "halt" or "grovel". The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or follow the command on its next turn. The spell has no effect in the target in undead, does not understand your language, or if your command would directly harm it.
The dark magic of Imperious Edict not only compels obedience but also instills a sense of deep fear and subservience in the target. The spoken command echoes with an otherworldly resonance, and for a moment, the target feels an overwhelming dread, as if a malevolent force has gripped its will.
