You press your hand to the stone, causing a hand-drawn scout to spread out from your fingers. As long as you keep your hand on the wall and concentrate on the spell, you can see, hear, and smell through the scout using whatever senses you have (including magical senses). As a free action on your turns, you can move the scout up to your speed along the wall. The scout can move anywhere along the wall to a range of 120 feet as long as its path is unbroken; it treats sharp corners and particularly craggy spots on the wall as difficult terrain. The scout is bonded to the wall on which you created it and can't move onto another surface or material and it can move through doors, so long as there is a gap between the door and the frame of at least 1mm.

As an action you can make the scout hide, making a Stealth check using your spellcasting modifier instead of Dexterity. It has advantage on this check, if it is in darkness. The scout must be near a suitably obscured nook or cranny to Hide; it can't Hide along a flat, featureless wall. If the scout is smeared or doused in water, the scout is destroyed and the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you create an additional scout, and the range to which the scouts can move along the wall increases to by 120 feet for every spell level above 2nd. Each time you Sustain the Spell, you can move one scout up to your Speed, and you can see, hear, and smell through all scouts simultaneously. A destroyed scout can't be replaced, and the spell ends if all the scouts are destroyed.
